A world-class competitor and the first Hispanic athlete to win an IBJJF adult black belt world title, Johnny Tama is recognized as one of the most dynamic grapplers of his generation. A respected leader within Zenith Mexico, Itzel Bazua Aguilar has played a central role in growing one of the country's most established Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teams. With more than 20 years of combined experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo, Fiona Geisinger is a respected black belt, competitor, and coach. She began her martial arts journey while studying Kinesiology at San Jose State University, later training under renowned instructors such as Dave Camarillo and Raul Castillo. After relocating to Calgary in 2022, Fiona joined JR Academy to continue her development under Josh Russell, whose roots trace back to Gracie Barra's headquarters in Rio. A strong advocate for Admin+ in Canada, Fiona has played an important role in shaping billing features tailored to Canadian academies.

Jesse Puata leads New Plymouth MMA, a community-focused academy dedicated to making martial arts accessible to people of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. Built on values of respect, accountability, and personal growth, the gym blends traditional martial arts with kickboxing, wrestling, BJJ, and MMA to help students develop confidence, resilience, and lifelong skills.
